HI! I'M ISABEL!

I was born in Lisbon, Portugal, and grew up in Dubai, U.A.E. Living in such an international environment shaped my curiosity, adaptability and appreciation for different people and perspectives.

After studying hotel management in Switzerland and earning an MBA in Marketing, I built a corporate career working with international brands including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Chanel, L’Oréal, Nivea, Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge.

For more than a decade, I worked in marketing, branding, communication, hospitality and client experience. I loved the fast pace, the creativity and the opportunities to travel.

Then, in January 2010, everything changed.

During a holiday in Portugal, my youngest daughter was born with cerebral palsy following a complicated birth. Soon afterward, my marriage ended, and I found myself rebuilding our lives as a single mom of two, with one daughter requiring ongoing care, therapies and medical appointments.

The future I had imagined no longer fit the life in front of me.

I still remember sitting alone at my kitchen table late at night, crying and wondering how I was going to make everything work. I needed to support my family, but I also needed the flexibility to be present for my daughter.

I began by building a newborn and maternity photography business. Being self-employed gave me more control over my schedule and allowed me to work while my daughters were at school.

For fourteen years, I managed every part of that business, from marketing and customer service to websites, bookings, content and day-to-day operations.

But as my daughter grew older, her care needs increased. I realized I needed another kind of business, one I could run fully from home and pause whenever caregiving life required my attention.

That realization led me into digital products, virtual services and online-business systems.

It was not a quick or effortless transformation. It was a practical response to a life that required me to keep adapting.

When I moved my work online, I began combining my corporate marketing background, fourteen years of business ownership and growing technical experience.

I learned how to build websites, landing pages, email campaigns, sales funnels, courses, memberships, digital products and automated customer journeys.

But I quickly noticed something frustrating.

Most online-business advice assumed that people had uninterrupted working hours, money for multiple subscriptions and enough energy to keep producing content every day.

That was not my reality, and I knew it was not the reality of many other special needs moms and family caregivers.

I created Your Techie Isabel to help caregivers build that different kind of business.
